BICYCLING. This corner of Wisconsin known as the Driftless Area was by-passed by the last glaciers. Its pre-glacial landscape of rolling hills and valleys is a cyclists paradise.
The Military Ridge Trail is directly accessible from Mineral Point on the Shake Rag Trail. The Military Ridge connects Dodgeville and Fitchburg, near Madison, WI. A gentle grade of only 2 to 5 percent provides for a very pleasant ride. The trail is open for hiking, biking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
DAIRYLAND DARE. 50K, 100K, 150K, 200K, 250K, 300K – you choose the distance in this challenging one-day cycling event each August. The Dare starts and ends in Dodgeville, passing through Mineral Point where riders will be climbing High Street, just one of numerous hills in this popular ride

ATV/SNOWMOBILE TRAILS. The Cheese Country Trail is a shared use trail which allows ATV’s, horseback riding, snowmobiles, and bikes. The 47 mile trail, which runs from Mineral Point to Monroe, has 57 overpasses, including a 440-ft. bridge spanning the Pecatonica River just west of Browntown. 608.776.4048
