City Parks. Mineral Point has several well-kept parks. Watertower Park, Ted Galle Park, Jerusalem Park, Library Park and Soldier’s Memorial Park provide places to relax or play, and to enjoy a picnic lunch. Soldiers Memorial has a beautiful swimming pool, basketball court, ball diamonds, tennis courts and playground equipment. Sheltered picnic areas to accommodate small or large groups, barbeque grills,and public restrooms are also available. Shelter reservations may be made at City Hall. 608.987.2361
State Parks. Several state parks are within an easy drive of Mineral Point. Governor Dodge, Wisconsin’s second largest state park is a short drive from Mineral Point. With more than 5,200 scenic acres of steep hills, bluffs, deep valleys, two lakes, and a waterfall, you can enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, picnicking, bicycling, mountain biking, swimming, snowmobiling, and cross country skiing. The park has nearly 300 campsites.
Other nearby state parks include Blue Mounds, Yellowstone, and Tower Hill.
