First United Methodist Church, Mineral Point is the oldest continuos Methodist organization in Wisconsin. It is credited with erecting the first Protestant church building in the state. The present stately gothic edifice was begun in 1867 and completed in the fall of 1871. The first Methodist services from 1828 – 1834 were held in the cabin of Elder Roberts, a pioneer miner and preacher.
A congregation of the Episcopal Church USA. The sanctuary, with a native walnut altar has a trefoil window is thought to be the oldest stained glass window in Wisconsin.
