Mineral Point is a wonderful community to call home … a place with something special going on in and about it. It is kind of hard to put into words – that undeniable sense of community – that pull on the heart that makes a place great. Whatever it is, many people have felt it here. It could be the architecture. So much stone, so much history. The buildings radiate warmth and fortitude. There are countless stories echoing in these historic walls and it is a privilege to be part of the unfolding chapters. It could be the landscape. Rolling hills and rock outcroppings. The greens of summer, the vibrant colors of autumn, the icy whites of winter, and then the fresh new greens of each spring provide year long Welcome Signs. It could be the lively and creative spirit of art that fills the air. Very few small towns can boast more talented folks. It could be the foundation built by generations of hard working families – farmers, miners, business people . . . roots that reach deep into the fertile soil. Add to all that are excellent schools, medical facilities, civic organizations, churches and city services.
It could be any of these things. It is all of these things. But above all, it is the people who make this home.
