Mineral Point is located in Iowa County Wisconsin. The courthouse, located in Dodgeville, is the oldest continually operating courthouse in the state. Iowa County was formed in 1829, still part of the Michigan Territory. Originally located in Mineral Point, the county seat was moved after a long battle.Three courthouses were built in Mineral Point before the “question” of the county seat was settled in 1861.
