Figgyhobbin. (fig’ – e – hob – en)a very rich
dessert made with pastry and rolled with brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts and raisins. Served warm and topped with hot caramel and whipped cream or ice cream.

Pasty. (pas’ – tee) a main course pie with a savory
crust and a filling of meat and potatoes, onions,(sometimes rutabagas), with salt, pepper and butter. “The Working Man’s Food”
was developed by the Cornish housewife as a means of providing a complete meal for miners. |
