ATVs and Snowmobiles

Snowmobile photo courtesy of Tri County TrailsThe Cheese Country Trail is a shared use trail which allows ATV's, horseback riding, snowmobiles, and bikes. The 47 mile trail, which runs from Mineral Point to Monroe, has 57 overpasses, including a 440-ft. bridge spanning the Pecatonica River just west of Browntown. ATV riders might be interested in the Tri-County ATV club.

The Military Ridge Trail runs 40 miles connecting Dodgeville to Fitchburg (near Madison, WI). The trail is open for snowmobiling but ATV use is not allowed (also open for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing).

Maps of both trails are available at the Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce. Email: info@mineralpoint.com
