HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEKEND

In celebration of 5o years of the National Historic Preservation Act, Mineral Point is presenting a trio of events to commemorate its importance to our community.

Saturday, May 14

50 OPEN DOORS

10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Take a tour of 50 historically significant buildings from the very old to the “built to look old” houses, businesses and public buildings.

Tickets are $10, available beginning at 9:30 at 210 Commerce St and at Orchard Lawn, 234 Madison St

 

DINNER WITH THE TEN DOLLAR HOUSE

6:00 PM

Enjoy a meal at the historic Walker House with the playwrights, cast and director of TEN DOLLAR HOUSE, a play that tells the true story of love and preservation as it happened in 1930s Mineral Point. TEN DOLLAR HOUSE

We are pleased to present a matinee performance Ten Dollar House, a play by Martha Meyer and Rick Kinnebrew at the historic Mineral Point Opera House. The cast and director of the Pride Films and Plays recently sold out Evanston IL run are coming to Mineral Point to perform this version of the play in and with the town that inspired it!
