Winter Lyceum: Mineral Point and the Civil War
Join Civil War historians Marc Storch and Tom Klas for this lyceum, which will look forward to our first Civil War Living History Day in June at Orchard Lawn!
During the Civil War, Mineral Point and the surrounding communities provided men to multiple regiments to support the Union cause. Of these men, one group would become Co. I, the Miners Guard, of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry. They would leave the state just over 100 men strong and in 1864 only 25 would return.
Hear their story of service in the war and explore their connections to Mineral Point and other nearby areas both before the war and after their return.Date and Time
